This section should cover everything a "newbie" user needs to get started. It is recommended that you use the RoninOS images, but we will always support Manjaro ARM XFCE. Use the videos below for visual aid or skip right to the instructions in text form. If you need help please reach out in the RoninDojo chatroom.

Choose an image to download for your device from the download section above. RoninOS is customized Manjaro ARM XFCE for RoninDojo users, but we will always support the official Manjaro ARM XFCE releases.
Once you have downloaded the image on your computer, you need to flash it on an SD card. Download and install Balena Etcher. It’s a tool to flash an Operating System image to an SD card.
Start Etcher, make sure your SD card is plugged in, and then select the image file corresponding to Manjaro. An example is
Finally click on “Flash!” to start the SD card flashing. After a few minutes, the SD card is ready. You can eject it.
Insert the now "flashed" SD card into your device, make sure the SSD is plugged, and power on the device.
Remote login to your device to setup Manjaro. This can be done from any Linux, Windows, or Mac computer that is connected to your local network using the following command:
If you are not familiar with SSH, please see this section first.
Enter the username you want to use and confirm. Next you can add additional groups for additional users, but leave it blank for now.
Then, you need to answer the following questions:

Finally, the wizard gives you a list of all the information entered above. Confirm if everything is OK.
The basic configuration takes a few seconds. Then the system resizes the SD card partition and reboots. After the reboot, the system is ready to use with your settings.
Once completed, SSH remote login with your new username. Check this example if unsure.
An ethernet connection is really the best way to get Internet access. If you have used Wifi please submit a guide.
We find it best to use SSH for remote login from any device that is on the same local network as your RoninDojo. This way you can avoid the hassle of plugging in a monitor and keyboard to your RoninDojo.

Now Manjaro is setup, you are ready to begin the RoninDojo install process. We will cover a few basic commands below and recommend you consult ArchLinux Pacman/Rosetta below for more.
To install a new package:

The net-tools package is installed during the RoninDojo system setup script.
ifconfig command is not available by default, you need to install it with:
